Wildmind Festival 2023 will screen Lisa Fingleton’s new film Voices From the Field at 10.45 in The Barn on Sat 22nd April.
Voices From the Field / Guthanna ón nGort reflects the experiences of farming families from the Dingle peninsula who took part in Corca Dhuibhne Inbhuanaithe / A Creative Imagining with artist Lisa Fingleton from 2021-2023. This project is funded by the Creative Climate Action Fund through Creative Ireland. The project was managed by The Dingle Hub in partnership with MaREI and The Green Arts Initiative of Ireland.
Over the last year, the artist worked closely with the farmers through drawing and film to creatively explore ways they can respond to climate change and biodiversity loss. These collaborative films were co-created with the farm families so they could tell their stories and experiences. They share their connections to the land and the types of farming they are engaged in. They reflect on their learning from this project, their concerns about climate change and their ideas for the future.
The films are directed by Lisa Fingleton and filmed by Chris Garrett. Editing, grading and music by Clint Fitzgerald
Lisa Fingleton will present a selection of some of the films from the project followed by Q&A with her and the farmers.
